Vancouver, Canada – The Stewart Blusson Quantum Matter Institute and the Morris & Helen Belkin Art Gallery at the University of British Columbia are excited to announce that French artist Caroline Delétoille is the latest laureate of the prestigious "Quantum Studio" arts and science residency. From October 14 to November 12, 2024, this residency aims to foster innovative exchanges between the arts and quantum science.
The "Quantum Studio" residency, open to all artistic practices, seeks to bridge the gap between the arts and various fields of quantum science, including quantum physics, quantum computing, materials science, and fundamental physics. By facilitating knowledge exchanges and collaboration, the residency hopes to inspire new pedagogical approaches and fresh perspectives on research.
Caroline Delétoille will have a dedicated space at the Stewart Blusson Quantum Matter Institute and the Morris & Helen Belkin Art Gallery. This environment will enable her to engage in meaningful discussions with researchers, learn from their scientific practices, and collaboratively explore a creative project that intersects both arts and sciences.
Several public talks will be scheduled throughout her residency in Vancouver, offering insights into the collaborative work undertaken during her stay. These talks will provide a platform for artists and researchers to share their experiences and discoveries, highlighting the unique intersection of their respective fields.
